Instruments & Instruction Offered

  • Acoustic guitar to include steel, nylon and 12 string (all levels from 5 years of age to adult)
  • Electric guitar to include standard bridge, vibrato bridge and 7 string (all levels from 5 years of age to adult)
  • Electric bass guitar to include 5 string (beginner to intermediate levels from 5 years of age to adult)
  • Piano/keyboard (beginner to intermediate levels from 5 years of age to adult)
  • Voice and ear training (beginner to intermediate levels from 5 years of age to adult)
  • Drums and percussion (beginner to intermediate levels from 5 years of age to adult)

I am experienced in teaching many styles of music to include: pop, folk, blues, rock, alternative, metal, jazz, classical, etc… My goal as a musical instrument instructor is to make musicians. I begin on all of the instruments that I teach with proper technique fundamentals. The basic knowledge of your instrument and its parts, its characteristics, limitations, and normal care/maintenance are also part of my instruction. From the beginning of our lessons together, I will assess your ability, likes and dislikes of various musical styles, and create a lesson plan, based on your goals, to achieve the desired results. Your consistent growth on your instrument is my goal.

Lesson Rates

  • $30.00 per half hour private lesson
  • $50.00 per hour private lesson

*I prefer cash payment at the time of service or paid by the calendar month in advance

Education

I received an Associates degree in guitar performance from the American Conservatory of Music located downtown Chicago, Illinois. During my time at this school I learned music theory, ear training, performance techniques, various styles of music to include: classical, jazz, pop, commercial music, African music, etc… form some of the best doctors of music in the country.

Before beginning my college music education I studied guitar under Dr. Dave Uhrich, a virtuoso of guitar, for approximately 4 years.

Experience

I began teaching myself music on the piano, guitar and snare drum at the age of 5 years old. I started my first professional teaching job at the age of 18 years old at a privately owned music school in Chicago, Illinois. I have instructed musical instruments at various music shops and schools since.

Personal interests

I love being outdoors! Hiking, mountain biking, camping, fishing, kayaking, etc… When I’m not busy, I like to spend my time in the mountains and the foothills.
