How do I determine the size of the player?

Measure the height of the student and compare to the sizing chart. Verify the determined size by measuring the students finger spread (see picture). If there is a discrepancy between size measurements, it is best to select the size determined by the finger spread.

If they Measure between        Then they need Cello size:
48″ – 50″                              1/8
51″ – 54″                                      1/4
55″ – 58″                          1/2
59″ – 62″                3/4
63+                 4/4

It is always best to have the student fitted by holding a physical instrument in their hands. You may come into the store or ask your orchestra teacher for advice on sizing.
