Education & Experience
I’ve been playing violin since age 3 when I got my first tiny instrument from Boomer Music Company. I went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Violin Performance and a Music Performance Graduate Certificate from the University of Northern Colorado studying with Richard Fuchs, Dr. Jubal Fulks, and Dr. Leilehua Lanzilotti. I then followed my passion for contemporary music and obtained my Master’s Degree in Violin Performance from Bowling Green State University studying under Caroline Chin. Since returning to Colorado, I’ve mostly been working at Boomer Music and performing around the Front Range. Currently I’m playing with the Loveland Orchestra as Concertmaster and previously played in Little Mermaid and Brigadoon at Candlelight Dinner Theater and Fiddler on the Roof with Boulders Dinner Theater. I also played in the pit orchestra of Fort Collins Opera’s productions of Susannah by Carlisle Floyd and Mozart’s Le Nozze de Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro). My primary expertise is in classical music but I have played fiddle music and have been fortunate enough to study and jam with Randy Miller and Brian Conway. I also was a founding member of historically informed baroque ensembles at UNCo and BGSU where I was lucky enough to perform and study the roots of our modern classical musics. My primary goal with teaching is to give students the problem solving skills that violin demands while holding onto the unique joy of playing music. I’ve been teaching private lessons since 2014 and have been an active performer most of my life. Whatever your musical goals on the violin I can help you achieve them and help you enjoy the journey along the way.
